I'll be doing the San d'Orian quest: "Over the Hills and Far Away" most likely in a few days. It is the quest for the map of Uleguerand Range. If anyone is interested and would like to come along for some <adventure> post here or send me a tell in-game. There's a walk-through on allakhazam for the quest if you need to know how to get it. I've already got the quest active, but I will be hunting for the item needed in Oldton Movalopalos... with any luck I could get an Oldton chest key and knock out two maps with one trip. Note: You can reach oldton movalopolis even if you have not done a single promvyon mission, but it does require that you have CoP installed.

Trael, can you give me an idea of the job level requirements for this zone?

Hey I'm down for that. Whats the key item?

Not sure of the job requirements of either zone. I think the part of Oldton Movalopolis that we will be going is lower level... should all be too weak to me. From what I hear, though, Uleguarand Range has some IT++ mobs to 75, so we will need to be really sneaky. I'm going to be going to oldton tonight to get the item... Shido, it's not a key item, it's a drop. It's Moblin Hotrok, which drops from Moblin Ashmen.

I've got the Moblin Hotrok at this point, just waiting for an adventurer or two to take the trek with me to and through the awesome Uleguerand Range.

According to Allakhazham this mob is Easy Prey to job 58...

Starburst, Vilebird, and myself managed to do this quest over the weekend... It wasn't easy to say the least. We had kaijin with us at the beginning, but kai kinda died a lot. I'd be willing to help anyone who needs this map get it. The activation part is easy, so is getting the hotrok when you have my help ;) (If you could get it on your own that would be best, but I don't mind helping if you need it since the ashman is kinda tough to find.) The tough part is navigating through the range. If you aren't a mage I recommend bringing oils and powders... scratch that -- bring oils and powders even if you are a mage. There are also true sight mobs throughout the zone, but they move in rather predictable patterns and can be avoided with patience and skill ;) The really hard part about this quest is the slopes...
You climb all the way to the top of this mountain range, then sorta ski down it... and have to get in these caves near the bottom. If you miss the ledge, the only way to get up there is to have someone else get there and tractor you after you die near them. This is how we ended up doing it. I went to the wrong area, and so did star. Thankfully for us, though, vile made it and was able to see me and tractor star and me. Also thankfully, we had enough exp to not de-level, despite having to eat a raise1. I think it would be much easier to do now that I have the map... as I could guide others in a safer manner.
Maybe this map hunt could be an even for tier1 or 2 in the near future, and if enough people have CoP. However, due to the nature of the zone, it would be best to travel in several small groups rather than a huge alliance. We started with 4 people and it was a little bit difficult to manage.
The good news about the zone is that there are *many* places to recast your sneak and invis that are 100% safe and easy to find.

Oh, and I almost forgot.. I attached a screen shot of the dragon we saw while we were there... It's Jorumgand. I didn't want to get much closer because I didn't want to repeat my Tiamat incident. Enjoy
Ooooh big dragon.
I could solo it.

yeah... thats why I didn't solo him. The pic isn't a photoshop, my graphics card just sucks, and its taken from far far away. Unlike Tiamat, I did not try to solo Jorumgand, just looked at him, took a pic, and went on about my business. I need to start running FRAPS so I can take some SS's with decent resolution.

lol I was only just kidding. My avatars look like they were photoshopped in the game too when I take a screenshot.
