View Full Version : Please help me, Clothescrafting 100

Eadrick

Alright, It's taken me alot of time to try to decide what I really want to devote my craft to, and money for that matter.

I've decided to devote at least 70% of my incoming funds directly to clothescrafting. I ask the linkshell for help. In the coming levels, eadrick needs two things.

1. Lightning Crystals.
2. Spider's Webs.

The webs will be my focus for skillup for the next 5 levels or so. The only downfall to this, they cost approximately 5k each, meaning it cost 10k to make one single item ( Plus whatever the cost of lightning crystals happens to be that given week )

Please, take this into consideration. I'm more than willing to help -anyone- in the shell, try to make any kind of clothescrafting item that's within my realms of possibility. I've made many clothes for people, and would really like to continue to do so. Help me, help you.

Additionally, i'll take down the names of each person who contributes to this, and these people will receive a very special item upon my reaching 100. (This item will be beneficial to that persons' job class, or whatever might spefically help them the most)

The road to 100 is a very long, and expensive one. I'm estimating from my current skill level (72), it could take me anywhere from 2 million, to 5-8 Million to finish.

Thank you for your help.

Eadrick.

I'm not necessarily asking for these webs for free.

I would just like a discount, on the AH price.

I'm more than certain you'll want me to help you craft things for you in the future, but you have to realize what it will take me to get there. If sacrifices are made on both ends, I'm hoping the road will be smooth.

Aditionally, I have chosen a different recipe that will allow me to reach 74. I'm hoping I'll be able to skill up Leather, and Clothes at the same time. Hopefully I won't lose too much gil doing this synth either.

Jesters' Cape (Crafting level: 74 Cloth, 30 Leather)
Earth Crystal
1 Silk Thread
2 Silk Cloth
2 Sheep Leather

Items asking to donate, or sell for reduced price: Silk Thread, Earth Crystals.

This recipe is cheaper than the Rainbow thread, but not by a whole lot.
This cape is very useful to higher level bards. It's level 54 to use, adds +7 to CHR.

Please, once again, any help is much appreciated.

Thanks again all that have contributed.

Sunday I hope to raise clothes to 75. After doing some major consolodating, seeing how much gil I have to be able to throw into this....We'll see.

Silk is the most important thing now though.

Yea, Silk's pretty much it at this point.

I figure I'll make 20 stacks of silk Cloth before I begin the skillups.

Ead, do you want them sent directly to you, or do you have a mule(s) that you'd like the items to reach?

Eadrick
11-15-2004, 09:17 PM
You can just send them to Ead, I'll mule them myself if need be.

I'm hoping to use all of the things that have been generously donated to me on Thursday.

Getting cooking to 72 tomorrow.

You guys rock hardcore, That's all I have to say about that.

Thanks to you all, I can craft about 60 stacks of silk cloth without ever having to buy an earth crystal ^_^

(No, I'm not being sarcastic either)

Do you still need silk? I have an uncompleted stack of 10 I think that's been burning a hole in my mule's AH

Eadrick, I have been trying for a week plus some to get people to hunt Habetrot with me. Since you are at the tender age of using twinthread, and with it could make things worth hundreds of thousands, it would be beneficial to you to help me to help you ^^

Drashogar
11-19-2004, 12:53 PM
Weird, alla lists Habetrot as being related to a BCNM60 lol....

Eadrick
11-19-2004, 01:19 PM
Yes....

Thank you for all of the donations I've received. Yesterday was my BIG skillup day. What did I accomplish?

Well first let me tell you what I put into it.

17 Stacks of Silk Cloth
17 Stacks of Sheep Leather
9 Stacks of Silk Thread.

Know what it all got me? ... 1.8 Skill
Oh, and I did manage to get a +1 Jester's Cape out of it.

Net Profit for the day: -350k

/sigh

But due to the Linkshell's overwhelming contribution, I didn't have to buy a single Earth crystal for all of my efforts~!

This is going to be a little harder than I thought ^_^;;

Sari, Let's hunt this guy. I can use the Twinthread to make Linkshell Corsages, or hopefully save the twinthread, and make Opaline gear. (Like level 90-95)

Drashogar
11-19-2004, 01:35 PM
o_O 1.8 skill for all that? ouch

Do you happen to subscribe to the theory that crafting while facing the in the direction of the synth's crystal's element's corresponding avatar/constellation improves your synths? :)

Sarizaddi
11-19-2004, 01:54 PM
Yes, but it's not nearly as detrimental to the number of battles you've fought against the Yagudo in conjunction with a ratio of how many gyshal greens you fed your chocobo over the number of the item you are crafting that exists in Jeuno AH. ^^

Myrjala
11-19-2004, 02:47 PM
I don't know where anyone got the "directional facing" from.

Here's a nifty thread though that goes through the best days to get skillups, HQs, and other crafting results

What Days are the Best to Craft (http://ffxi.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=10&mid=10998978117683690)

Drash...

Even though I know it's probabaly not true what way you face, I'm a very supersticious person by nature. The first time I heard that brough up by boilon when he was doing Bonecrafting. He told the linkshell that he had awesome results while facing East with the Earth crystal.

I tried it, and sure enough it seemed like I did something right. Ever since then, If I start synthing and I fail a few times, I immediately change directions until it works. *Shrugs* It's all psychological I think.

Crafting update:

I've reached level 74, and am ready to move onto my next recipe.

Things needed:

Lightning Crystals
Spider Webs

Again, I don't expect these things for free, but even a discount would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for all the support! ^_^;;

i farm lightning crystals up the wazzooo, i'll send you some k ead. how many you need you think? 4-8 stacks per sythn session?

i farm these once or twice a week.

as for the price or discount, 50% of current AH price. how's that sound, so if ltg crystals cost 1k at ah, send 500 gil or less. whatever is fine. i'll send you crystals, you can give donations back, just no more than 50% of current ah price.

let me know how many stacks you need so i don't bombard you with 20-40 stacks.

Eadrick
11-26-2004, 12:06 PM
20-40 Stacks? O.o

I think I have enough Lightning Crystals to hold me off for another 5 stacks of thread.

What I really need more than anything now is SPIDER WEB! These sell very fast on the auction house, and are hard to get a hold of sometimes. Please everyone, when you find these...Send them to Eadrick. I'll send the appropriate amount of Gil as soon as I logon.

^_^

Eadrick, I am levling my SMN Job and I get a lot of drops. I noticed that this thread hasn't been touched in some time. I would be happy to help as well if you are still looking for materials.

Thank you for your consideration Hipp. I have just reached 98 Clothcraft. Unless during your leveling adventures you happen to run across (Aquarian Abjuration: Body), I can't get much help from you ^_^.

Thanks anyway though, Nice to meet you :)

Very good, I figured you had advanced a lot since your last entry in this thread. I just thought I would try.
