I noticed that on the Calendar, Promy-Dem has been scheduled as an event for Sunday. I offer my help in this as a SMN (one of the ooooh-aaaaaahhh jobs for Promy) should you need it!
(But not if there's noobs in the alliance going with us, {death} {No thanks!})

From what I've experienced, having a judicious combination of multiple SMN, multiple RNG, multiple NIN /NIN tanks/DD's usually ensures success in a Spire BCNM. However, I DID beat Dem with 2 THF/NIN's, a PLD, a WHM, a BLM, and myself as SMN. It was just so damn close and we lucked out in a lot of ways! Sooo....if you're one of those people that aren't such a job, don't fret -- this LS is here to make you useful, somehow someway.
I wanna go as War/Mnk or Pld/War

I would be willing to put my tail on the line as one of the WAR/NIN...but since I am new to this combination, what is preferred weapon wise?...
->Greatsword
->2x Centurion's Sword
->Sword and Board *not very likely*
Of course, I have Utsusemi and I know how to use it...^^

Sunday? I had thought Saturday. If someone scheduled it for Sunday also, then it would be better to turn Saturdays run into another, but either way I like seeing the turnout and support.

I know I'm not part of Nephilim yet (soon hopefully ^^) but I just figured I'd let you all know, Inferno (main ls) is doing Dem on Saturday. We could all probably team up and get to the final boss area as a giant group. I should have my BLM to 30 by then so there's a good chance I'll be going. It would be a good chance to meet some ppl. ^^
Anyway yeah, if you're interested send a /tell ingame to either me or Enjou since he leads Inferno now.

KK, that makes a yes, this is for Saturday, please see the Calender (http://www.nephilim-x.com/forum/calendar.php?) to see the time. I will be acting as a guide for this. Please know I have already completed Dem, so I will actually just be there to help guide you guyses that still need it. Please try to arrange a BCNM party of 6 for everyone needing to go, so if you yourself need credit for the fight, please find six more that need credit and set up a party, PLEASE do not count on me to make promises on who will be there and set your BCNM parties up for you.
The time is earlier in the day, so hopefully we can get this done with early so everyone can still have most of their day, and especially so I would like to see a good amount of participation in Sandy Eco-Warrior. Sandy Eco-Warrior was unsuccessful last week, so I'm hoping we can all band together and knock these things out.

Like Sari said, I would definitely start putting together the BCNM teams in advance. You don't wanna just throw together an alliance and "rebalance" the teams accordingly so that teams have tanks, healers, dd, etc. You have to design the BCNM teams from the get-go, and THEN worry about how to get to the Spire with what you've got.

Ok more comments from me!
Just looking through this thread so far, this is the job lineup I see (for those that didn't say they couldn't make it on Saturday):
SMN: Drashogar, Eadrick, Nusakan, Auska, Asamibabe
BLM: Eadrick, Serrket, Auska, Juell, Asamibabe
WHM: Eadrick, Serrket, Juell, Asamibabe
WAR/NIN: Celestraeh, Bane
RNG: Sarizaddi
PLD: Vade
WAR/MNK: Vade
BST: Serrket
Drenna, what job(s) do you have available?
We got a grip of mage jobs. If you have both SMN and WHM to offer, I would go with SMN because you can essentially double as a WHM until the need for your 2hr arises.
If you are a melee job, it is a good idea to have /NIN handy, otherwise hate will likely go outta control with the healers healing more than they have to. The BCNM bosses hit HARD. Think Hakutaku at level 30 cap, but with only 6 people, and no Stun! NIN/WAR and WAR/NIN are nice because you can voke to give others time to recast Utsu, and escape a few nasty hits here and there. I have seen PLD/WAR's make it through (but not without dying in the 2nd half of the fight).
Obviously, the idea is to create awesome teams with as many people that need Dem as possible, and fill in the gaps with people like me that have already done it.
I doubt we have any special Anima we can use to debuff the BCNM boss, but no one likes to go farming for those ahead of time -- it's enough trouble getting in and out of Promy as it is.
And finally, going up with Inferno LS is probably a great idea assuming everyone knows how to avoid aggro. Last time I went up with a 2nd alliance, it was a smooth ride with only 1 death on the way up.

Dem was easy, went up with only 6 people. team was Rng/nin Mnk/war, Sam/war, Whm,Blm, Sum. We won with no trouble.
anyways I'm will join, either as a BLM or Whm for a team going to the BCNM or as party of a Stray Suicide squad.

hey Drashogar? remember when I told ya yesterday how I tend to do things on my own in this game?
*hides himself afraid he might get slapped* i umm... i have a ... recollection of fear sitting in my storage ._.
I got bored one day and decided to go farming in there cause i got tired of looking for a party or doing nothing so I started my own adventure >.<;; This makes psychoanima, which induced intimindation for 30 seconds. If i can't find a party tonight, I might do it again

I too have a Recollection of Fear...harvested a while back...sometime tonight I will convert it to the "potion", given that I can find the NPC in Jeuno.
Also, not sure if anyone should be needed for suicides...I was reading a very interesting post that suggested that Ramuh's AoE attack was an excellent way of gathering up the strays and allowing everyone to enter the memory stream. Thoughts, Nusakan?

if it needs to be done, I'm your man...hume...summoner...person.... umm... ya...
Ya i can make it happen, however, Thunder spark has a pretty small radius so we need to have some sort of plan on gathering them to ramuh and then having him take all the aggro. I'm also a little concerned on how fast they might take ramuh down too but with Paralyze in effect, it might not be as big of a problem. Any ideas?
One idea is to have various people pull one or two strays at the same time. Meaning, if there's 7 strays in the area, 7 people will pull them towards me and I can thunder spark them all in one area. Then we can make a run for it while the strays are occupied. This also needs to be done quickly though, as the teleport will stay for like a few minutes so as soon as the recepticle is dead the pullers NEED to rush out and gather them. I will also cease fire and begin resting to full MP when the recepticle is almost dead, to make sure Ramuh will stay out as long as possible. I may need a second SMN on standby in case Ramuh is taken out.
Also, Celestraeh any chance of me comin over your place? I have a feeling a particular parent will nag me to get off the computer/PS2 like dead smack in the middle of the run. I'll bring my laptop and/or PS2. Please?
Remind me tonight to convert my recollection via tell if you can...it's sorta in storage so i have to go home and take it out from there.

If a SMN is available, then using Ramuh can be very effective. We employed this strategy when doing our Prom runs with 6 people. The strategy was very simple, we ignored the strays unless they agroed or until the memory stream was up. Then one or two people would gather up all the strays near Ramuh while the others got on the memory stream. Once all the strays were within Ramuh's AOE, stun and run to the memory. When gathering the strays, treat it like you would a range attacker (i.e. rng/mage type mob). The puller should go past Ramuh so that the strays will get near the avatar otherwise you risk the AOE missing some of the strays.
Even with a single party of 6 we were able to complete this with no deaths. The party configuration was: war/nin, war/nin, whm/blm, smn/whm, rdm/brd, rng/nin. After our Prom runs SE made a change to increase the amount of time the stream stays up so it should less rushed.
Depending on the number of people this might be a better strategy. If you have 18+ people, it would probably be faster to just kill everything.

The only real danger is the timing. Once the Summoner uses the attack, he gets agro. This agro is tranferred to Ramuh once the attack actually gets off. But once the Summoner steps onto the stream, and the event scream comes up (Do you wish to enter the time stream? Yes No), Ramuh goes inactive and the hate transfers back to where it was from. The point is that this tactic is impossible if people do not time things right. Once the SMN uses the ability, he needs to have the stream up before the stuns wears off, or the Strays will all take after the SMN and kill him before he can get through.
While SE edited the timing to make it less rush, they also made the event easier to break. Originally, it was only if you got hit that the event to slip the data stream would be interrupted. Now, if you get attacked at all, it breaks the event. I found this out the hard way, as when we would first go thru, I let myself be one of the last. Blink would prevent damage from being taken, so I just had to slip the stream before my blinks wore off. Now, if I get attacked at all, I can not go thru, regardless of Blinks or all else. So the point is everyone has to be through and fast, and in the right order, or someone could easily get stuck behind, and we know what happens then.

I also did most of the Promyvions with a 6 person group. (holla and mea) Before the patch and the extened time the smn strat was the best and you simply /pray for your smns to come through safely. After the patch a good group of 6 killing one at a time has no problem finishing off the strays around the MR platform. The 3rd MR is the only problem where you might not have time. The trick here to to simply clear a path on one side and keep an eye on them while you zone over.

if we have 2 pts coming, killing all the strays before entering should not be a problem.
this smn thing is a good idea as long as it is organized and everyone follows through.
i just finished dem last night. 2 pts, what we did was pick off of the strays before engaging the MR. after that we engage, and melees voke the spawned strays. whatever wasl eft over after the MR died, we just killed and enter.
well i still have yet to see a time for this. if i'm online, and you need a smn/blm/whm let me know. (i'd prefer not to use my blm) think smn is the best job for this.

hmm... i do agree with the event screen being canceled while being hit. I do also agree that if i use any bloodpact against a target, aggro may be transfered to myself. I have already proven this with my avatar videos in ffvault.com summoner forums. But I do not think Thunder Spark will apply to this actually.
I should probably explain how Thunder Spark works too, well in terms of how a mob will be hit and how it goes with aggro. I hope I can explain it well. I've done A LOT of farming in the marshlands with ramuh using Thunder spark against crawlers, leeches, goobues and the elementals there. (not against thunder elementals though). From what I've experienced, the second I cast Thunderspark and Ramuh gets ready for it, a range and the mobs in that range will already be determined and the mob will automatically go for Ramuh, yes even if he hasn't done the damage yet. However, any mob that decides to waltz into the range AFTER this has been casted, will be ignored and only the ones that were will get hit.
Now for aggro, I will double check, because I am sure that the mobs that I did not specifically target but were in range, automatically went after Ramuh. However, I am uncertain if the targeted mob will go after me or Ramuh. My guess is that since the other mobs will go after Ramuh, so will this one.
Back to what Sari was saying... You may be right about avatars going inactive when I enter the stream and a window pops up, I don't have any evidence to prove this. But If the pullers pulls the strays back to camp and Ramuh does keep them busy, assuming that they do go after me, I should hopefully have enough time to teleport out of the area. hmm... but if i do teleport, aggro may get transfered back to the person who aggroed them in the first place unless they already teleported. Should I be the last to leave?
hmm... a lot to think about. Sorry =/ I really do study how my avatars work ^^; lol I'm in the FFvault a lot, I like to explain to new coming SMN how things work, especially the level 20 fights in DETAIL.
---6:45pm update---
When entering the stream with an avatar out, the aggro doesn't get transfered to you. The avatar simply comes back to you and stands next to you, like you never gave them a command to do anything.
I'm also sortof testing the thunder spark thing. I can't seem to get it to work as everything i cast it on dies... need to try on bigger mob... will update later...
---8:45pm update ---
Thunder spark
If you cast thunder spark in a group of mobs, only the targeted mob will aggro, and if the mob links, they will come after you. But if they don't link, the non targeted mob in range will just go straight after Ramuh.
In the case of the Promvyion run, the strays will have already been occupied with the pullers and will turn around towards Ramuh once they get hit by thunderspark. I suggest not using provoke as a method of pulling as Ramuh may not beable to pull aggro off.

I just want to thank everyone for helping each other out on making Provyion-dem a sucess. This run proved that some jobs are just as good in this alliance, as any other job, even though the majority say that it doesn't. This has been really fun and I hope there will be more to come =)
