Alternate download?

Anyone know any other way to download these updates? Their download client doesn't seem to work very well for me, I'm stuck at 0kb/s and it's been that way since last night.

I found a better way!

You can find the torrent file here:
C:\Users\(name)\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\metainfo

Open the torrent file in your client of choice. When finished downloading, copy to:

C:\Users\(name)\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta\d96437e6\patch

Then run the client. It will find the patch file, check it over, and then go through with installing it.


This moved my download from 0 to 450kB/s. Problem solved!

BTW, they have new info saying that the beta will start tonight :)

Not sure why SE Torrent program is so horrible with all the freeware ones out there. Wish I knew about the torrent location yesterday wouldn't of wasted 2 days of trying to patch :( . The total client is 8.31 GB in 9 Files. The 2 files starting with H are the largest, one is 4.7 GB and the other is 3.6 GB, with the smaller ones being 6 and 9 MB.

Well I'm at the login screen now so I assume all the downloads I need are complete. Now to just wait for them to open up the registration so I can get my key...

Hey, I am torrent illiterate, so can someone walk me through it? I used the regular DL'er, and it won't even open. I am going to reinstall, but I don't want to wait 4 days.

just figured out how to do it, thats pretty slick, downloading super fast now

rensha, are you still having problems? what torrent client are you using?
