It really is no sad story so please read ^^

2 weeks ago after friday study I drove home. It was around 7 PM my time. I drove towards a crossroad and some black minivan was driving towards me on the other side of the street. Nothing strange till this moment. I continued to drive streight and wanted to pass the crossroad. The black van became slower and wanted to drive into the road on my right side. But since we were on the main road I had the right to drive first.

But the Black Van didnt seem to notice that and came about half a meter into my side of the street. I pulled my steering wheel to the right and trid to break. I successfully evaded him (no skill up) but slided into a street sign with the right front of my car.

My Airbag didnt trigger and I wasnt harmed anywhere but a lil shocked in mind. I got out of my car and it was pretty badly damaged on the right front. That part was basically non existand - the metal street sign went thru it like butter.

The driver of the black van had also stopped meanwhile. He came over to me and asked if I were hurt. He was a normal guy around the age of 20-25. He was some driver of a Party Service, or so I thought at least cause the van had all sorta advertise on it. He handed me out his last name and the number of the service he seemed to work for. And I noted the car sign. I wanted to call the police but he insisted to drive further - which isnt allowed by German law. But I thought what the heck its his problem if he does... and I dont wanna get some ppl a cold pizza lol

I called the police, they took care of my car and stuff and asked me out what happened. That night I didnt make it home (around 1 hr drive) but slept in a good friends flat nearby.

I was a lil feared on if I could claim th other guy guilty. Cause I didnt hit his car and there was nothing I could really do to proof my point of him making evade me.

Few days later we got a report from insurance that my cars repair cost was around 4000$! With my car beeing roughly worth 4900$ still. But upon calls to the police they stated it was clearly the other drivers fault. I felt something was strange... that went just too smooth...! The owner of the Party service also said his insurance would cover all cost for the damage done. Too smooth... I had some awk feeling... also the guy that drove the van seemed to have lost his job there.

Few more days passed. Its still unclear if I let repair my old car or prolly just better buy a new one with the money from the insurance. Now yesterday I was called to the police again. They wanted to ask me out a little again and take some notes to finish the case. They basically asked me what happened after the accident and how the other driver did behave. After I was done we went to walk out and me to sign some papers.

I asked what happened to the other driver cause I was curious cause stuff went just too smooth. The policeman said that he obviously lost his job there and he will be accused of "dangerous behaviour on street" (there is some special term in German I dont know how to translate) infronta the court.

At the End he added.... "Didnt you know? That guy didnt have any drivers licence at all...."

Seriously roflmao...! I kept giggling all day. Thats just too strange to happen to someone o o...

lol, lucky you that you weren't hurt or put at fault. Too bad no evasion skill-up point. :(

I got in a car accident the first month I got my Jeep Wrangler in front of my highschool while I was on my way to an early-bird chemistry class. Some guy decides to ignore the stop-sign, and plowed right into my back, right fender/tire. I was afraid all day that the insurance company would fault me because I was only 16 at the time, but in the end they decided he was 100% at fault and had to pay everything. The car he crashed into me with was a rental because he had been in a car accident two weeks previous and his car was in the shop for repairs. ^^;

lol!!

Lyra, out of curiousity, what was the german phrase you didn't quite know how to translate? My old english teacher was from Berlin, came to the state at the age of 40 something during the late 70s. I can ask her if you'd like to learn the correct translation.

LOL! Omg Lyra that's hilarious! No license... you have to wonder what the other guy was thinking :gunsablaz . Same thing happened to my mother when she was a teen, this guy pummeled into her car turning a very sharp right. He had no license to drive either. He blamed the accident on her because he said "I put my blinker on, she should have seen it". In the end he had to pay for everything. After reading your post I was laughing so loud lol I had to tell her your story. She found it amusing too :jumphappy ^^
