lol....
Common sense would say that genes have little to nothing to do with the topic of that "research" and sociological/psychological issues, such as self-worth and self-confidence, how society views women who enjoy sex, and other social stigmas weigh heavily into whether or not a woman is able to enjoy that experience.
If you've been programmed to belief that the act is only for reproduction and that it was a sin to enjoy it... then I highly doubt any drug aimed at altering your genes is going to make you do so.
10 to 1 says the same man who invented the underwire bra came up with that topic.

I dunno, this research confirms a long-standing theory of mine:
Fact #1: The world is full of idiots.
Fact #2: Males are just here to spread their genetic code around. The females of the species actually determine which genes gets carried on to the next generation.
Guess who's fault it is that Fact #1 exists? :eyebrow:

If what you are saying is true, then the female carries around genes from both her mother and her father. If she passes along her father's genes and that child grows up to be an idiot, whose fault is that? -.^

It's her paternal grandmothers fault, for mating with an idiot and giving birth to her father. :D

And that's how Kishi sent all those imaginations into overdrive. Now I can say "I was there when."
another bit of research that seems flawed to me, they used identical twins to do this because only identical twins have similar genes and use that to prove that its all about genese huh?
Well unless that found a significant number of identical twins seperated at birth and then one sent to an entirely differnt continent then they are missing some possible factors. Ideantical twins having the same rate of orgasm could be based on identical upbringing (as stated earlier) or highly similar diet or any number of life factors that the identical twins probably have in common.
"Only men who are most skilled in the art of sex, physically attractive, or psychologically compatible will be able to make them climax."
- so whats that have to do with his genes. sounds to me like only men who turn women on will get us to the goal or something like that.
As for playing solo, i have read in various places that that can sometimes contribute to making it harder to climax when with your lover, unless of course your with your partner while playing solo...err anyway.
Yeah as for my own opinion, the last part of the article is most correct in saying that the men who take their time will get the prize. For guys that watch porn, first id say quit cause it tends to make men romantically retarded. if you do watch porn, use it all as an example of what not to do.

Right, Xiao, but the point is, females do the selecting of mates, not males. Females are more fertile when they regularly reach orgasm during intercourse. A man that gets you to the goal, and one that you subsequently stay with, is one that you've selected in part for the reasons presented in the study. It's a scientific way of saying "if you're in love with him, the sex will be better, and here's why."
I dunno about the solo thing; I know some females do have to learn how to develop an orgasmic response, but I think that's more along the lines of overcoming hundreds of years of the western doctrine that women aren't supposed to enjoy that kind of thing or they're branded as harlots and lots of other bad names.

...don't ask me :gruff:
you know i am really starting to take issue with 'scientific' research these days. so much of it is so shotty and has more holes than your average anime.
Take for instance this research about profitablity of G movies verses R movies.
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/8123387/
Now when i read the origional article, apparently they simply took the average profits of the movies with different ratings. now they say that only 5% where G movies (likely all disney and pixar) which always do well, even when they are not good. Better reasoning for this may simply be the limitations of options in G movies. If there were 50 G movies in a year, that doesnt mean that families are going go see them all, infact it will probably cut into the profits of disney and pixar movies and causeing any number of those movies to flop. With that the average of G movies proftiabity would most likely drop. R movies make less average profit because of greater competition. G movies have little or no competition and yet benifit from a large built in audience.
This is also similar to the study done in the early 90's that was used to show that Asians tend to be smarter than non asians. I wish i had the actual article but its very old now but it turns out the study compared the grades of 59 Asian and Asian-american students and an american school and almost 1000 non asian students. 41 of the 59 asian students where imagrent Asian Americans or children of imigrants, whom are notorously under immens presure to excel, and another 8 of those where study abroad students, whom again would likely be under great pressure especially considering the added pressure of high expense of learning over seas. The non Asians were randomly selected ppl from within the school system.
The study showed that on 'average' the Asian students performed 14% better in math science and analytical skills. The actually study showed that of the 59 students, only 2 of them ranked in the top 5% however but the conclusion to the study left this part out.
Point being alot of studies these days use really poor staticics and leave out vital factors(whether intentionally or unintentionally) in order to bring their desired conlusion to light.
--side note, i hate stereotypes and i think the smart Asian stereotype tends to be particularly hurtful as it creates resentment, puts undo presure on those of us AA students who are mearly avereage, and the stereotype itself as a 'positive' stereotype is used to justify alot of negative Asian stereotypes. /em steps off soapbox.
edit. who said there are no stupid questions? :tongue2:

so this is what my tax goes towards? lololol wooohooooo
I must largely agree with Ama, after seeing and becoming a fan of mentalism/suggestion/persuation experts like Derren Brown (like David Blaine but English and far far better) I think many problems to do with reaching a certain state is largely mental and those with 'high' standards are equally as susceptable to those with 'low' standards, to suggestion and persuation and in fact a very short time with an expert like Brown and I could easily see those previously with high standards lowering them and those with low, raising them.
However that can't be said for all women as I think some women may actually have difficulty in this area due to a physical reason, as in something not connected right, genetic mutation is fairly natural and random, after all, some poor blokes have erection problems or premature erm.... stuff >.> which aren't 100% related to mental issues... take Priapism for example (the guy from 'Airwolf' suffered from this!).
My conclusion, the cost of which I should be charging my countrymen millions of £££s for, is that most problems of this nature and psychological, although not all and further research onto both area should be undertaken, for both women and men.
I think I deserve a pint of beer for that O.o

I can say, as a woman, that this is absolute dragon dung. I believe myself to be largely infertile, and that has -never- impacted my ability to enjoy myself in intimate moments. Not with anyone I've ever been with.
There is no "science" that says whether or not a woman and a man love each other, and some of the best sexual relationships are the most volatile (my birth parents, for example). Some people have great sexual lives but are totally unsuited for each other in every other aspect of their relationship.
Biological science has nothing to do with that. It's much more a mental and emotional thing.

Aye, I'm just counter-pointing with Ruru from the perspective of the researchers. ;) Quite frankly, the study itself has to be flawed in some way, imo it's probably because its based on anonymous questionnaires. I mean, the statistical probability of me consistantly knowing women who belong to the "always reach orgasm" minority is pretty low, but, there it is. I'm sure there's much more involved that my simple male brain can't comprehend. I do think we humans still have some animal instincts left in us, and they still play a role in the mating game, whether we know it or not. :)
edit: I was just thinking about instincts and that famous "female intuition" being related in some way...

{That's interesting.}
Debates that revolve around some type of intellectual study are always interesting to read. But of course there are always assumptions made by everyone and thus debates such as this can lead to subtle arguments that then lead to utter nonsense.
It's human nature to always think oneself is right in their own assumptions, and usually when presented with actual fact and truth, people tend to get defensive and some even run away so to speak.
We as humans can research all we want about topics such as this, but who's to say what the actual truth or correct answer is? All we can really do is go off the best possible and most agreed upon results, and thus it becomes the 'right' answer.
Only men who are most skilled in the art of sex, physically attractive, or psychologically compatible will be able to make them climax.
While that may be their thinking, I don't necessarily agree. You could say it's all in the person's upbringing, and how they were raised. Who's to say one is 'skilled'? I mean honestly, how would this skill be determined? That's more of an egotistical type statement in my opinion.
I will agree that those who just seem to 'click' together very well will have an easier time pleasing each other, but no because of skill, but because of the amount of comfort they share with each other. Thus making it more of a psychological connection than anything. Or in a sense, maybe even a spiritual connection.
If two people who love each other have problems pleasing each other then they just need to talk, tell each other openly what's wrong, or what needs to be done. Knowledge is power so they say, and I agree, to an extent. The more you know the better off you may be, but sometimes the less you know the better off you'll be, it's all situational and just really depends.
Anyways, I think I'll stop there, I gotta head home anyways, the work day is over.
