Summerfest!
------------------------------------------------------------
Spring is over is over and it's time for
Summerfest!

At this time every year, adventurers gather
in the towns to kick back and take a break
from their usual daily activities. It is a
time for players from all nations to come
together and swap tales of their exploits.

However, night is when Summerfest really
heats up. The ensuing darkness sets the stage
for a grand display of fireworks in the sky
and on the ground. Countless bazaars line the
streets and music fills the air. Adventurers
of all shapes and sizes strike up
conversations with complete strangers when
not dancing hand in hand with their
companions.

The Moogles, as well, have devoted themselves
to making this summer a memorable one.
Participate in their events to receive
wonderful items that will make your
Summerfest even more exciting!

Summerfest will be held from Jul. 23 to Aug.
8th, 2004.

Experience the sights and sounds of this
summer extravaganza in the following

Dear Community Site Owners,

We would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued involvement in the PlayOnline community.

Summer is here and it will be the first time for North American players to spend it in Vana'diel.

Every year the people of Vana 'diel gather in the summer to celebrate and throw festivities. This festival is held during the summer, a time during which the Japanese hold a traditional event called "Obon."
The motif of this festival is influenced by the event known as "Bon-Odori",in which people gather around at night to dance under the moonlight.

We believe that by understanding what "Bon-Odori" is about, players will be
able to enjoy the event even more!

We handpicked the following English sites. They provide further information
on "Obon" in English and we were hoping that you would add the links to your sites.

These two sites provides a better feel of what its like at an "Obon" festival. http://www.rsdjapan.com/magazine/onlyinjapan/sukui/sukui.html

This year, for the first time, players using the North American version of
FINAL FANTASY XI will be able to join our Japanese players in celebrating this festival. We are working together along with all of our players in our efforts to make this event an exciting one.

We may be asking you for detailed opinions and wishes as they apply to
this event via e-mail, so please accept our thanks in advance for all your cooperation.

Thanks again and Good Hunting!

Yeah, I want one of those robes. Anyone have an idea how to get them? Or if we even can? They might just be models for the summerfest npcs, hopefully not though.
