if you ever saw it on the WP forum since then i've added.
each stanza is about one person i've had an adventure with, discounting the first since that isn't really an adventure. if you can guess them all correctly you get a cookie. discounting xiao because i told her the answers already.
also if the line sounds really weak... its because i had to think of something that rhymed. rhyming is hard.
Over the hills in a land far away
one adventurer said to the other "What shall we do today?"
"I tire of saving the world from certain doom.
I think I'd just like to nap in my room."
"Remember when we quested across the sea
resulting in a giant squid attacking me?
We saved the cargo and the crew
and they made a pirate out of me and you"
"I remember being lost in the jungle
I was attacked by a goblin that smelled very fungal.
His axe rose as did my hands to defend.
With a swish and a slash its life you did end."
"I caught wind of vampires beleaguering the villagers in the north
so you and I as mercenaries stepped forth.
Our death black armor hid us from sight
as we slaughtered the blood suckers in the night."
"We once discovered an ancient civilization beneath the desert sands
There we awoke angry undead bands.
Crossbows blazing we ploughed through their ranks
when all were vanquished we plundered their treasure banks"
“We took our rods and reels out to sea just for a little respite
It started out a peaceful day but ended in a fight.
Out of the ocean the enormous sea slug did clamber
I saved you by hitting it with my hammer.”
"Up the tower we ascended
against five other treasure hunters we contended.
At the top we gazed upon our goal
only to be dismayed it was a lump of coal."
“Hours we explored down in the grotto
‘Vast riches will abound’ was our motto
We found a mermaid and sang her a song
She passed us her ring and told us so long.”
“Mushroom hunting in the forest of tall oak
All the while of squirrel hunting we spoke
The night was very rainy and cold,
But never did we find the noble mold.”
“On the air ship I met you for the first time
Then at the shadow’s castle where you fought most sublime.
We watched dragons fly over a ruined city
To have to kill them would be a pitty”
“Ever was I in trouble I asked you for help
You’d come even if I was being attacked by a killer kelp.
Into a volcano, an arena of birdmen, a dark and scary cave
I could always depend on you to be brave.”
“Lying face down in the dirt
Getting in the way of harm and hurt
Death cowers in dread
When ever to our aid you tread.”
“Down in the depths of the den
I took a legion of men.
Long did we fight the monster of many eyes
I found out then of your darkest lies.
For everything we had been through
It meant absolutely nothing to you.
Two faced to me just like the rest
I thought I had passed your test.
Now I leave with a saddened heart
I had wished we would never have had to part.”
