New patch messed up ffxi

After this most recent patch, my computer will no longer start up ffxi. Play Online will go through perfectly, and when I try to run ffxi...the screen stays black with no intro movie. I'm super pissed right now, and I do not want to re-install again...if I have to I think i'm just gonna quit. This is rediculous...anyone got some suggestions on what I should do?

before that, try turning the movire off. Go to the Windows start-up menu, go to programs -> Playonline -> FFXI Config.

One of the selections in those tabs will allow you to turn the opening movie off. Also, make sure that your screen size and the FFXI screen size is the same, otherwise no start-up either.

Use the "File Check" option and have it Check FFXI (first menu option is PlayOnline Viewer) to see if there are any currupt files.

This happened to me once after the patch too.

I just restarted my pc. Then it worked.

Meh...its working now. I restarted twice...no dice. I ran the file check on Play Online and FFXI...no dice...I restarted once more in desperation...works just fine now...Thanks for the advice.
