Kind of self explanatory what I'm suggesting here. 16 worms, 15 flesh eaters and a NM flesh eater, which is a fun fight for a Ranger. Not really going to make a forward plan yet, just wanting to see who all would be interested. There are a few different rewards I would like from this BCNM, namely the Fire Spirit and Utsusemi:Ni. There are other rewards that would make it worthwhile. If you might be interested in the raid, let me know.

I'm definitely interested. I recently did a BCNM40 with Laucian, turned out pretty good. Worms are a Rangers and BLM's best friend.
They have alot of MP to drain. Which in turn, makes BLM that much more valuable in this arena.
Elemental Seal -> Sleepga would be even more effective here, because if we get any hate .. All we have to do is walk out of the casting range of the worms. : )

I'd be up for it. I can offer either a pld or drg depending on what you guys want.

This is an interesting BCNM, and as Eadrick said above, is really tailored to range attacks. With 16 worms to defeat in 30 minutes, You have to go fast. But at the same time, since every single worm has Stonega II, I would say that even the best melees stand a good chance of insta-death. It's doubtful that all 16 would cast Stonega II at once, but at level 40 even three of them can kill, and since the BLM will Sleepga, likely they would almost all wake and start casting at once.
The strategy for this particular BCNM needs to be hit and run. That's why I picked this one, because a ranger can do just fine, especially with blink (even though -agas bleed straight thru blink, I can still sit there and pick them off and no need to run from Rasp or Stone II). Black mages also do well, Warriors maybe depending on their range ability, bards are fine, white mages sure, Ninjas and theives are okay, again if they've worked into range attacks. But tanks do not do so well. No one can tank 16 mobs at once, and it isn't wise to try. Beastmasters, well, for once there's a BCNM where a Beastmaster doesn't offer much. Worms don't move so they aren't much for attacking each other. Summoners are nice enough here. Red mages could probably handle it fine. I would almost say though that either Monk, Dark Knight, Dragoon or Paladin would have the worst time. If they can't be right up on the mob, they don't have a lot of offensive power, and like I said no one can tank 16 mobs at once, and I'd hate to take someone in that would just be there to die. I would like to put together a "no one dies, no exceptions" party. I said before in another thread that I'm not one to exclude anyone from participating, but I would ask that if you volunteer something outside the norm strategy, that you had created a possible work in the old take.

Worms huh? Okay, I might be interested in this, too. I had a crazy black mage friend who tried out this bcnm, thinking he could solo it because they were worms. He said it didn't work out so well because they sucked him in. =( I don't know if that's true, or if he was just upset about losing, heh. In any case, I need to do something with my seals since I've been hogging them. Let me know if anything with this progresses, and if the party set-up looks good, I'll join.

Not to mention, we should have a RDM in this party. With a RDM's Enfeeb, they stand a good chance to Silence worms. We can always silence the one we're currently working on.
The thing that concerns me is this: Are they all kinda clumped together? Or are they all seperately thrown about the arena?

Yeah, was thinking that Sari. I couldn't do much for this one unfortunately, I have crap for range and I don't like the idea of 16 worms looking at me funny. Moot anyways, I blew all my beastseals today. Did 10 bcnm40's, tired ^^;

They are somewhat clumped in the arena, so if you rush in, you are going to be in range of all of them. The good part is though that you can kinda move so you are only in range of one at a time, so you can blast the heck out of one, and move the angle of attack a little for the next. Sometimes there are a couple right on top of each other, but if you do it right and do it from range, you can easily rip thruough them one or two ata a time. The only trick is killing them all fast enough, that works out to being each 1 worm defeated in less than 2 minutes each.
It being a level 40 BCNM, however, there are a couple of abilities that stand out as being particularly useful. One is Barrage, which is actually available at 30, but Barrage is very effective in knock them out fast and gaining TP for SCs. Another is refresh, which if we have a RDM along means it will help to have as little downtime resting as possible. For the BLMs Sleepga and Aero II help here. For the WHM Haste and Shellra II are very useful. In addition, if a full WAR comes along Warcry is a good boost, or for Bard's Hunter Prelude, Earth Carol, and Magic Finale can be a great boon.
If Rage is back in time I would love to have him. We could fix that "never beaten a BCNM before" streak.

I can definitely bring my white mage or red mage to this event. I might be able to bring my black mage too depending on the timing (need...to...level...black mage...to...40).
BTW, RDM Refresh is a level 41 spell, so RDMs won't be able to refresh, though they will have access to Convert (which effectively doubles their mp pool). Bards should have access to Ballad though, so it might be useful to bring one along for that, as well as for Horde Lullaby.
