Why can't I send a private message anymore?

You don't have permission to access /forum/private.php on this server.
It's a text Error. This has been happening more and more frequently. Basically, there is some text in your message which the Forums are mistaking for code instead of text. It's hits this "code" and thinks you are trying to hack it. Or something like that.

Anyways, if you rewrite your message with different wording, or even then, usually just that one sentence, it goes away.

As for finding out what sentence it is...trial and error.

I had a ', a -, a ~, and some .'s. In which language do these indicate start of code... >.<; I'll try hacking away at the lines till it goes.

Basically, it's an annoying failsafe. Recently, e-mail virus hackers have been using forums like these to host their e-mail frauds. They make private message or posts with hack language in them, and kick the post out of a text mode and into a program e-mailer mode. Since the forums are online, it turns our forums into a free mailer daemon for them.

vB is constantly making updates to guard against these frauds, but I'm sure you know, when trying to close the door on botters and hackers, sometimes even innocent people get stopped by the firewalls.

OK - I've removed all punctuation... My private message contains nothing but straight text characters and new lines.

I still can't send it!

OMG I changed the word update to change in the body and it sent!

I guess someone is a little paranoid with the database keyword update....
