Should we have a section on Fame?

I dont really see the point.. it would be small if we (someone) added one.. List the repeatable quests and the different lvl's of fame and your done ^^.

I meant more like:

Mog Safe Expansion #1 = level 3 fame in home country
Mog Safe Expansion #2 = level 5 fame in home country
Mog Safe Expansion #3 = level 7 fame in home country

Gobbie Bag #1 = level 3 fame
Gobbie Bag #2 = level 4 fame
Gobbie Bag #3 = level 5 fame
Gobbie Bag #4 = level 6 fame

What comments = what level fame?
Where are the NPC that gives those comments

(BTW, someone needs to confirm whether my info is correct.)

Yo bud, right now is a great time to get windy fame with coronets. I can buy them from Bastok and you can trade them to some guy (never did this quest) for fame/gil.

we can arrange a time to do this.

{I'm Interested} My windy fame is my lowest >< (around rank 3-4). Bastok is probly rank 5 or 6, and sandy and jeuno are 10 ^^. Any help getting windy fame would be much appreciated

Route I usually use to get there is: Exit MH in Windurst Waters, take the first right, and zone into Walls. Turn left, and the house is the first on the left.

(For what it's worth, I managed to max my Windy fame just by leveling up a bunch of jobs there. Between Creepy Crawlies, Mandragora-Mad, Teacher's Pet, and In a Pickle, it was fairly easy to get my fame up... Now, Bastok is where my fame suffers--if you can call level 8 "suffering.")

Went to help a friend out with windy fame when Bastok was in 1st and we could buy em from Bastok store. The cost from 222-224 gil per (you get 200 gil back from quest) His fame went from lvl 2 - 9 with 2 trips, 60 inventory for him and 40 from me so thats 200 * ~20 gil per item = 4k gil for max windy fame o.O!

I got some of my Bastok fame from the "Only the Best" quest (otherwise known as "that Selbina Cabbage Quest"), where you take La Theine cabbage, millioncorn, or Boyahda moss to the sheep farmer in Selbina. This is rumored to lower your Tenshodo (Norg) fame, though, so it's one to be careful with. Once I got done with that, the remaining majority of my ("suffering") Bastok fame came from the "Vengeful Wrath" quest, where you kill Old Quadavs in Beadeaux for Quadav helms and turn them in to a Galka by a staircase in Bastok Mines for 900 gil per. "Only the Best" is quick but potentially costly, while "Vengeful Wrath" is not especially quick, but it's at least reasonable and somewhat profitable if you famr the helms yourself. Most of the repeatables in Bastok proper are pretty annoying to try to do, though. (I have yet to be able to turn in flint stones there, for example.)

It can....if you treat fame like fame and not "how fast can I raise this stat on my stat sheet".

Why are people famous? What have you done to make the people of a nation think highly of you? When I thought about that and discerned that the answer might be, "I gave a lot of millioncorn and cabbage to some guy in Selbina.", I didn't like that answer. Thus, I am only doing that quest when Masenko hands me moss cos I'm in the area.

I'm really proud of the fact that my San D'Oria fame is gathered mostly from doing almost every single quest in San D'Oria proper. Maybe I'm screwed up in that mindset. I just sorta like that my hero status in there wasn't bought with a single gil....

I agree with you on that Amaryssa... I raised my Sandy fame the same way.

But damn... Windurst on the other hand... the quests there are just a *****. Plus running around Windurst for a long time makes me want to go out into the woods and hurt forest animals.

That's why we need to go and do a bunch of these as a group. Much more fun running around with your friends than running around alone :)

See my thread in the Events board for when I want to do this. Quests + Friends = {fun} {adventure} {excitement} ^^

And there is -nothing- wrong with pwning forest animals. After I do Windy quests, I cast Diaga II on a bunch of stuff in Sarutabaruta and watch it slowly die. Or sometimes outright Banishga II it and watch them all fall over dead. -Great- stress relief, and tends to scare newbies. Great all around ;)

Every person with a calm demeanor has at least one random, stress-releasing thing :p

When I was doing Sandy quests, I'd train all the rabbits in West Ronfaure to the gate into town and watch them all fall over from Diaga :p Easier than killing them one by one trying to get hare meat and rabbit hides. And then I found that once in awhile, it is nice to just -release- all that. Keeps me calm and happy and not stressing over silly things :)

No no Amaryssa, you've got me all wrong. For sandy fame, I did every single quest and maxed it out to 9 easily. Seriously, I wanted to see the storylines and complete really interesting quests, like "A Timely Visit". However, I've done a bunch of quests for windy and can't seem to make it rise. I do put in effort, but if I can't rise it any other way, then coronets seems like a good idea because I wish to fight some high level avatars soon. :D Trust me I like windy and it's quests, but for me getting fame there is hard :crycry: .

Windy fame -is- hard. Vilebird and I did bastore sardines and I am -never- doing a repeatable in Windy like that again. Ugh. Luckily, most of my Windy quests are not done, and I hope to do almost all of them and raise fame high enough for Avatars. :)

Lol, well at least I'm not the only one having trouble with windy fame :juggle: . I admire anyone who's had it maxed, I have done a bunch of quests and it hasn't risen past fame 3 for me there :crycry: . But I do see your point on how repeatables can be a bit of a hastle. I just want to get windy fame to 6 cause that's the level of one of the avatars. (it is right? plz check on that  )

Fomor hate relates to fame? What cities?

I think he means how you tell what your fomor hate -is-. There are NPCs that tell you your fame and there is also an NPC to tell you your hate level.
