I'm going to be going back to school this summer, and I wanna start messing around with some 3D programs now (3D Animation is my major). To get myself more familiar with the programs, I wanna mess around with them...so I decided to make this thread.

Dragonblade's 3D FFXI Renders

I'll take a few requests to see how well I can make them. They're going to be pretty basic until I can figure out how to make landscape and such. If there's anything you wanna see, lemme know! :D

I, too, have a request, my good Galkan friend.

How about: Daevik the original (Monk AF everywhere except wearing Sitabaki for pants) and Daevik the newb (Kenpogi, etc) back-to-back and in sitting positions. Maybe a kindof sihlouette effect on the original, if you could do that, if not, then, np. It'd look nifty to me, either way.

Oh, and you don't have to do it if you don't wanna. ^____________^

360 Graphics??? LOL if you think the 360 Graphics are going to be like that, you're mistaken.

To my knowledge the only change is that the graphics on the XBox 360 will be set to 1024x768 instead of the 640x480 that it is set to on the PS2.

I'm not sure exactly what DB does to the models from the model viewer to make them into more "smooth" 3D images, but they look great.

For some reason, some hats are a problem when rendering. RDM AF has an issue of hair clipping through it, and looking ugly. I can rerender if you want.

Fog:

Render > Environment > Fog
Scroll down and switch from "Standard" to "Layer"

Set up a Camera
Create > Camera > Target Camera
Scroll Down to "Environment Range"
Check "Show"
In ViewPorts look at the box the camera makes
Raise the "near range" and watch the line that is on the box. If you dont see it, then you need to increase the near range alot, cause it starts off small.

That's pretty much it, best learn how to use it by messing around
