Default New Laptop! Yayz ^^

So, I got my new Dell Studio laptop (with Vista) *sigh* and I'm downloading WoW onto it as you're reading this. I'll be transferring data and stuff soon, but I probably won't be back online until this is all finished. So, I'm needing amusement while I wait forever and a day for WoW, BC, Wrath, and all the glorious patches to get onto my new machine.

Amuse me! And, if any Vista players can give me tips or a heads up about stupid things Vista might do, now is the time. Kthxbai <33

Vista likes to install things to weird folders, which might make add-ons tricky. You probably also need to right click and select "Run as administrator" to get WoW to download updates.

Other than that, grats on the new machine and my advice about Vista is... use a different OS. =p

I think I'll be able to survive til 7 comes out. Or maybe I can get a 7 beta from my IT friends.. hrmm..

Yeah, Jess, I have noticed the annoying confirmation boxes for everything! I wanna know if I can stop that or not... But I really just wanna see WoW on my computer!! The graphics are super sexy, makes me happy! Its not an XPS but it is a Studio, and very shiny

backlit keyboard

Vista Desktop

Nice shiny black cover, pretty reflective

To turn off User Account Control (annoying confirmation windows for everything):

1) Open Control Panel and click on User Accounts
2) Click on Turn User Account Control On or Off
3) Uncheck the box for "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer" and click on OK
4)Reboot

No more annoying confirmation windows!

Who in their right mind would turn those off? I like being asked every, single time if I want to send a file to the Recycle Bin, or boot from a CD/DVD.

Oh, and to contribute:
When I played WoW for a few months, I didn't have any issues with Vista.
